Tom Felton talks about Draco Malfoy & life after Harry Potter

While in Majorca, Spain earlier this month to attend the Pirate Adventure charity event, Tom Felton spoke to students at Queens College and the Pauline Quirke Academy about Draco Malfoy, working on the Harry Potter films and life as an actor.

Quote:
“Do you believe that the role you have played as Draco Malfoy has stereo-typed you as an actor?”

“Please don’t believe I can play a nice guy,” he responded. Asked if from an acting point of view, he struggled to play a “bad character” Felton said “it’s much easier playing someone nasty. Playing the good parts, and being convincing about it, is more demanding.”
Quote:
Asked if he could choose to be another character in the Harry Potter films, Felton said that he would like to play the part of Lucius Malfoy, his father on the screen. However, another student wanted to know if he thought that this same character would make a good prime minister, and Felton answered: “No, he’d be a bit too selective and act more like a dictator than a democratic leader.”
On what Tom might consider doing professionally after the Harry Potter series ends next year, he said:

Quote:
Responding to a question on what he was planning once the filming of the entire Harry Potter series was complete, Felton said that after some “time out” he would like to consider doing something musical in the film world. He is not, he confirmed to another student, going to make a career out of fisheries management which he had once expressed an interest in doing. “I might keep that as a hobby,” he said.

Jason, who has been busy at work on a small budget film "Skeletons," took time out to come to NYC over the weekend for a tribute to Harold Pinter. At the event he did a reading of "The Dumb Waiter" along with his Brotherhood co-star Brian O'Byrne (Colin). Harry Potter's Bad Boy with the children of The Great Hormond Street Hospital

Though he went unnoticed at first by the local press, it only took a little time for everyone to know that Tom Felton, best known for portraying Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter saga, was wandering around the gardens of the Melía del Mar Hotel with his girlfriend. British actors participated yesterday at the the show and coctel party called Pirate Aventure exhibition, which was promoted by the TUI and was in benefit of children that suffer from Cancer and permanently stay at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Celebrities and British press were staying for free at the Melía del Mar hotel, while some families and around fifteen children were staying at a few hotels around that zone. At 6:00 PM all of them (a group of around sixty or eighty people) found themselves at the coctel party that was offered at the Illetas Estableshment. During it, the children and their family were in perfect liberty to talk and spend some time with all the celebrities, which include: Tom Felton, Pauline Quike, Sue Cleaver, Steve McFadden, Sheila Fergusson, Claire Sweeney, Duncan Pow, Danny Husbands, Richard Arnold, Amanda Mealing, Joe Swash, Kara Tointon, Cheryl Fergison and Katy Cavanagh.

Around 6:30 PM, they all moved to Club de los Piratas (Pirates Club) of Magalluf and managed to collect 70,000 euros with all the tickets that were sold among the British community of the Island that each year, participate of this event. For yesterday’s even, around 750 tickets, that have a value of 50 euros each; in five years they’ve managed to collect 400,000 euros.

Federico Martínez-Carrasco, director of Sustainable Development of Sol Melía, mentioned that the Melía hotel cares about all the children, and therefore feel that they have a commitment with them and all the projects that could potentially help them, especially when they involve their eduaction and health.
